Today we had a walk in the two gorgeous Parks nearby which are are beauty full to see with all those Autumn colours. I took some pictures.

On the way we saw some exotic birds(Rose-ringed Parakeets) . They fly here in Liberty and we are wondering how they can pass the winter here.

I just read that the same happens in Germany and they can survive the winter as in their countries in Asia and Africa it can become very cold.

See the bird here:

Bird

story told by Philippe Schepens

In December last, we had a first cold spell with freezing and misty weather. The RNP from the parks in Brussels, our capital, are generally sleeping in flocks in the tops of huge poplar trees. In the "Bruparck" area , people found in the early morning apparently "stoned" parakeets on the ground. They were alive but incapable to flight . Reason: during the night they got moist on their wings which froze, and sticked the wings on such way closed that flight was totally impossible. So they just fell off the trees as mere clumps of ice but not only fully alive, but as well in fairly good condition. Their feathers protected them quite well against the frost. Fortunately they were rescued by the local Bird protection league people. All birds were also ringed, so they may "serve" further ornithologic science."
